Training · Collaborative Communication

Creating connection… even when things get stuck

A training designed to turn delicate conversations into useful dialogue: more clarity, more empathy, and concrete requests that move things forward. You combine Nonviolent Communication (Rosenberg) with active listening tools (mirroring, labeling, paraphrasing, open questions).

The challenge

Why a “good conversation” is so difficult

In teams, the problem is not intention. It is the mechanism: we mix facts and judgments, we guess what the other person thinks, and then we react… instead of listening. The result: tension, withdrawal, or conflict.

⚡

Rapid escalation

A simple disagreement becomes emotional: defensiveness, attack, sarcasm, shutdown.

🌀

Misunderstandings

Omissions, generalizations, “mind reading”: we interpret… and get it wrong.

🧱

Unclear requests

We say what we no longer want… without expressing what we actually want, here and now.

Who it is for

Who this training is designed for

For professionals who need to manage sensitive conversations, give feedback, reframe behavior, resolve conflict, or preserve cooperation within a team.

🧭

Managers & Team Leaders

Reframing, motivation, conflicts, psychological safety, alignment.

🤝

Cross-functional teams

Cooperation, projects, “soft” tensions, unclear responsibilities, frustration.

🎯

HR, Sales, Client-facing

High-stakes conversations, complaints, resistance, and day-to-day negotiation.

Typical contexts: feedback, disagreements in meetings, difficult collaboration, dissatisfied clients, underperforming suppliers, a “negative” colleague, and reframing without blame.

Our approach

Clarity for yourself, empathy for the other person

The objective is simple: de-escalate tension without collapsing, and move the relationship forward without losing standards. We work on two complementary skills: expressing and listening.

🧠

Express without attacking

Move from judgment to observation, connect emotions ↔ needs, and formulate a clear request.

👂

Listen to understand

Mirroring, labeling, paraphrasing: show that you understood before you respond.

🕺

“Lead the dance”

Keep the dialogue framework: open questions, pacing, return to the concrete, win-win.

Models & tools

A very practical framework, easy to apply

Participants practice a conversation “grammar,” then apply it to real situations.

1) Nonviolent Communication (Rosenberg)

  • Observation : describe the facts, without judgment, without generalization.
  • Emotion : “I feel…” (emotion ≠ thought ≠ accusation).
  • Need : connect the emotion to a need / value.
  • Request : ask for a positive, concrete action (a request is not an order).

Objective: remain firm on substance, respectful in form.

2) High-precision active listening (Chris Voss)

  • Mirroring : repeat 1 to 3 key words to encourage the other person to expand.
  • Labeling : name the emotion / dynamic (“It seems like…” / “I get the impression that…”).
  • Paraphrasing : summarize to validate (“If I understand correctly…”).
  • Open questions : “How…?” “What is it that…?” to broaden and clarify.

Objective: reduce resistance and create a genuine space for cooperation.

3) The anti-misunderstanding reflex

  • Identify risk zones: omissions, generalizations, mind reading.
  • Return to the concrete: “What exactly did we observe? When? In what context?”
  • Dare to ask: “What do you need?” / “What would be useful for you?”

When tension rises: pause, breathe, paraphrase, identify concerns, explore alternatives.

Results

Expected outcomes

Simple tools, but very visible impact: less tension, more cooperation, more effectiveness.

+Clarity
Dialogue

Judgments are replaced by facts, and blame is replaced by concrete requests.

+Empathy
Listening

We better understand what lies behind the words: emotions, needs, and stakes.

+Cooperation
Win-win

Less resistance, more commitment: the conversation produces a solution.
